Research Policy

Genealogical research depends upon the availability, accuracy, and survival of historical records. Certain individuals, relationships, events, or locations may not be discoverable due to missing, destroyed, inaccessible, or incomplete records.

While every effort will be made to conduct thorough and accurate research, research outcomes cannot be guaranteed.

All conclusions are based upon the evidence available at the time research is performed.

By engaging AncestralCrypt's research services, the client acknowledges and agrees to the following:

  • The Research Retainer is non-refundable.

  • Research fees compensate for professional time, expertise, analysis, and documentation, not guaranteed discoveries or outcomes.

  • No refunds will be issued for completed research, partially completed research, or time already invested in a project.

  • No refunds will be issued because expected ancestors, records, relationships, or conclusions were not located.

  • Research may be paused or discontinued if additional expenses are required and client approval is not received.

  • Any third-party costs, subscriptions, archive fees, record fees, travel expenses, DNA testing costs, or document retrieval fees are the responsibility of the client unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Important Notice
